IPC Annual Alternative Investments Conference Welcomes Over 275 Attendees to Chapel Hill

On March 26th, our 18th annual Alternative Investments Conference brought together more than 275 investors, academics, and industry professionals for a day of discussion on the most pressing issues shaping global private markets.

Hosted by the Institute for Private Capital at the UNC Kenan‑Flagler Business School, the conference featured keynote presentations and expert panels exploring trends across private equity, venture capital, private credit, and real assets.

Morning keynote sessions included Private Debt and Its Implications for Financial Stability with Victoria Ivashina of Harvard Business School, Geopolitical shockwaves: Navigating conflict and the US-led rewiring of global trade and investment with Robert Kahn of Eurasia Group, and Rates, Valuations, and the Path to Liquidity in Private Markets with Kipp deVeer of Ares Management.

The luncheon featured a conversation with Brad Briner, North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, hosted by Davis Noell of Providence Equity Partners, discussing investment strategy and stewardship of the state’s pension assets.

Afternoon sessions examined a wide range of industry developments, including the use of artificial intelligence in alternatives, the growth of evergreen and wealth-channel private market vehicles, liquidity solutions & secondaries markets, middle-market investing, and emerging opportunities in real assets, venture capital, and private credit. In AIC tradition we concluded with our annual CIO roundtable.
